In August I posted an article that told Recruiters not to be scared of social that was a follow up to another article related to the evolution of recruiting. So in the spirit of keeping at least some of the content on RecruiterGuy.net relative – and in addressing a few open points in each article, I post today about avoiding the perceived “time suck” associated with social x.
So let’s assume you’ve decided what networks you’re willing to devote some time to or that you feel have the potential to show you the most return for your effort. While you know that you’re going to need to be flexible in your selection so as to avoid any heartache – you’re now on the road to addressing the second point laid out in the previous “Evolution of Recruiting” article.
- Where to start (what network?)
- How to prevent a Time Suck (recruiters “wasting” time!)
- Measuring the Return (hires or applications?)
I’m honestly one of the busiest people I’ve ever met. So when a conversation comes up with my peers and colleagues in the industry about trying to stay healthy while juggling massive recruiting strategies, insanely large implementations, family time, professional networking and the rest of what has to get done it always comes down to the same thing… How each of us are either successfully or unsuccessfully making the time for our health.
Let’s face it, gang. We’re pretty smart people. After all, you dress yourself in the morning, you manage to feed yourself when you’re hungry, and you’re reading one of the best blogs out there related to recruiting/technology/life. Okay… 2 out of 3 ain’t bad – but my quick point today is that most of us are cognitive enough to know what’s going on around us or to at least to focus on what we’re asking of others, right?… RIGHT?
