MySpace Calls It Quits…

Word on the street is that MySpace is calling it quits… at least in the Netherlands. With an office opened in Amsterdam less than a year ago already shutting down it would seem that MySpace has had enough of a beating from Hyves.

Hyves (in case you aren’t Dutch) is the Dutch based social networking site that MySpace attempted to aquire back in QTR1 of this year but was obviously unsuccessful. Word on the street is that the site did pull more than 250,000 users giving it a total of 650,000 from launch – and while this would seem impressive it did little more than dent Hyves over 5 million user base.

Britney’s Team Kills Twitter

Like OMG for reals, Britney is on the Twitter and you can totally do what she is doing right after she does it… or maybe you can just do what her PR team is saying she’s doing… or maybe you can just do what her Social Media team wants you to think she is doing…

You get the idea, right?

After all, Twitter’s genuine appeal is as a tool that helps to make its "tweeters" more transparent. The idea behind Twitter was to find out what your friends or network members were up to. But is the benefit really the same when it’s your PR team that tweets what you’re up to… or what they want others to think you’re up to? (okay okay, I’m a cynic – but I’d hardly call this ‘transparent’)
