Okay, Recruiters… we heard the rumble that Circuit City would announce the closure of 155 retail locations and the list has hit the press. Looking to hire retail personnel? Well the Circuit City list has just been dropped and you can grab it here - of course, you’d better hurry – Best Buy is positioned to jump.
For anyone catching up, Circuit City detailed plans of the forward direction where phrases like "waning consumer confidence" and "weakened retail environment" were the credited causes for the closures.
The quick of it was that 55 markets would see closures that would result in a 17 percent reduction in the company’s total workforce. With closures slated for as early as November 5th the movement is fast.
Of course Best Buy is all over the change with it’s voiced intention to grab up stores closed by competition such as Circuit City.
"If store fronts close, a big number, you can bet that we will jump in and connect with those customers … and take advantage," Best Buy President and Chief Operating Officer Brian Dunn told reporters at company headquarters last week.
"If there’s a big opportunity, we’re going to absolutely go after it."
